Thinking of going down the root of throttle bodies and would like some advice guys please. I'd like to know exactly whats involved, what bits or setup id need and what kind of cost im looking at. My rallye's current set up includes newman 285 cams, all the additional rebored block with forged 86.5mm pistons to match.
Few other bits such as lighten n balanced flywheel, remapped, aftermarket exhaust, KnN etc.

Can be a fortune or if you are fortunate like me, I bought my Jenvey 45mm and fuel rail, injectors, linkages, Longman manifold etc for only £400. Already had my DTA, made my loom, the only one big expense was the mapping.
It can be done on the cheap but may take time to wait for the bits to come up for sale.
Worth it in the end though, the sound of 4 wide open throttle butterflies on the rolling road is awsome!.
Looks like you already have a head start with the engine mods though.

Not much, 183 bhp on the rolling road, with standard everything else, I put a limit of 6000 RPM as the engine had done 100K miles, though the head was rebuilt.

I wouldn't go with a kit, you wont get a satchell inlet in one Wink and they usually include a linkage kit which is £80 you dont need to spend, have a look in my project thread for more details and pics.

6k limit?! mine went to 7700! stock engines peak at 6500, a bit more on bodies, not sure where my peak was but on ph2's it was roughly 200 bhp flywheel at standard 86x86.

100k miles is nothing!

I seem to of lost the relevant paperwork but 196bhp rings a bell, not sure if thats flywheel or wheels of course, i know the cams and other relevant work should compliment throttle bodies nicely.

Swapped out my engine 4 years ago for a low mileage one and fully rebuilt the head but it occasionally catches the limiter at 7650rpm in first if you don't change up as the rev counter gets to 7k because the needle can't keep up with the engine speed lol.

Good maintainance inc good quality belt and pump and you won't have a problem. These heads have double valve springs for a reason.

I do have history with the car, and the head was rebuilt, just played it safe for everyday road use.

Mines got 162k miles on it and I never think twice about taking it up to 7k revs. Get that limiter raised. A lot!
