Firstly Welcome Tobias a fellow Bristolian? ..secondly have you touched the suspension or brakes yet ?

What car do you have ?...says just 306 ?...is it a 6 or not ?

I personally wouldn't go down the Cams route your asking about unless you have a big chunk of cash lying around .
You really won't get good increase for your pound m8 ....a standard N/A 6 is well sorted & is a great all rounder .....go the modified piston route yes but not cheap though ..
What's your plans with the car ?

With all the money I've spent ....I've not touched my engine internals yet apart from Jenveys bolt on .

thanks for the welcome yes I'm thinking of fitting the gti6 engine into my 205 track car I'm building it has 206 180 brakes coilovers lsd diff ect ect what i was thinking if i had a ported head with cams and a standard bottom end and i did have a big end failure i could swap the head onto another engine and I'm back on the track again and it won't break the bank

Well the Cams you will buy without having your Pistons dished won't really give you great increase & you will really then need it remapped each time to get every bit of power out of it !
Why not get the engine bottom end refurbed first & start from there m8 ?
Save you loads of hassle & get decent cams & you can get your Pistons machined at the same time ?

A chap on here does it Whistle

All depends what you want out of your engine. I ran catcam 3107s with maniflow wan idols and magnex system and made 195.4bhp but then your looking for around £400 for cams then £350+ for a map + head gasket and timingbet what may as well be done at the same time

keep the MI16, rebuild it., it will take far more cam than a gti6 will without changing the pistons.

you don't need to do anything to the heads till you're well into the 200's really.
