Have to put some new rubber on my d turbo 120 bhp and have been offered what appears to be a good deal of £42 a corner for BFG g grip or the avon ZV5's in the 55 profile(just a few left in a local supplier). I have ps3's on the gti but wish to keep the profile 55 on the diesel(used every day etc etc). Would really appreciate opinions on these two tyres as going to buy one or the other in the next couple of days. I do crack on in the diesel most of the time and would like to keep the feel with good wet grip also, not much point in putting on rubber with s**te wet grip over here lol. I do remember Welshpug mentioning BFG tyres on one thread here but cant seem to find it again. Thanks |

Would do Welshpug but no deal to be got on michelin from this lad,its going to be one of the two above this time. Have you tried any of the two. Tyre blurb gives the zv5's a C rating for wet grip and fuel consumption and gives the g grip a B for wet and an E for fuel consumption. Personally I've never tried these particular tyres so.... I have had a good experience with other BFG tyres on bigger saloon car in the past. |

Had zv5's before their not bad for mid range tyres. I'd say the wet grip could be better though remember chucking the derv into a roundabout in the wet the first time I had them on and being a bit disappointed with the speed at which it broke traction and understeered. I sold the car to Aaron6 on here and his Mrs got probably 20k out of them. But I've fitted them to larger cars at work and they haven't lasted well at all. ________________________________________ Black power baby!
