Picked up the Rallye today after it being stuck in the garage for umpteen weeks being prep'd and mot'd to find the passenger footwell carpet soaking wet. At first I thought this was water and it was a poorly fitted windscreen but after doing a bit of digging about tonight it appears to be coming from up behind the dashboard and is of a sticky consistency.... Not quite sure what this is but I did notice today the heater didn't seem to be working properly.... Heater matrix related? If so best way to get the matrix out - am I removing the dash?? Any help greatly appreciated! Craig |

Yup that would be heater matrix p**sing out. Lovely fun job I've done many times lol big strip down dash out lots of swearing etc. I could probably do one in half a day but first time expect a days work min to be honest. As I thought! Thanks for confirming.... Oh well if the dash is out might as well get it flocked!I'll have a root about see if I can find anything that can assist in the dismantle..... Certainly the removal of the heater controls looks a wee bit fiddly! Craig |

Just remember the matrix is different for non-aircon cars. It's not that bad to do, just pipes are a pain to get back on ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I've got as far as scuttle panel off to get to bolts located in engine bay. That was enough for tonight!I'll get back onto it tomorrow so at least to get it out, and stop the fluid build up in the footwell, it's nasty stuff! Can you buy new matrix's still from Peugeot? Other than fit said new matrix and put it all back together is there anything else I need to do to complete? I've noticed a couple of problems also with the heater switches - fan speed switch has a wee cable that has snapped that I'll need to sort plus the plastic dash surround was cracked prior to me getting to it so I'll need to locate a new one too! The joys of a 90's Peugeot.... |
