The ICV has four connectors on it, surely i need another two connections to tell it what to do?
Any help will be appreciated.

I've bought a DTA E48 ecu and i'm wanting to use the Magneti Marelli ICV with it, i've looked at the wiring diagram for the ecu and see that it uses pin21 which must be a switched earth, as that pin can also be used for a second set of injectors instead which then connect to the +12v supply. The ICV has four connectors on it, surely i need another two connections to tell it what to do? Any help will be appreciated. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

it won't work with the 4wire type, you need the three wire bosch type like the 8v turbo amd the s16 use I believe, emerald is the only ecu that'll control one of the mm valves due to them doing plug and play rover units.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

are you sure the DTA can control the 4 pin ICV im unsure i think you may be managing the idle via ignition rather that fueling |

Bugger. A google image search for them hasnt really brought up any useful pictures, neither did an ebay search. Are they totally different in shape/fitment to the normal icv? I've gone and fabricated an inlet manifold to suit the normal one now and bought a bloody E48 thinking it would work as i saw it said it had icv functionality in the manual but didnt think to check the wiring of it all. Unsure what to do now, im guessing i could blank off the manifold and not run an icv at all, or source a 3 wire one and bodge it to work with the E48 and my manifold, or just get a new emerald ecu. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

its easy enough to adapt the s16 valve into the pipework, pull the mm out and blank it with a plate, connect the bosch valve to the hose.check the manual, e48 is quite old now but still pretty capable, idle by ignition works fine fir me ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

That's my inlet plenum and how I was hoping to use the icv. With the way you described the 3 pin icv it sounds like it wouldn't work with how I was hoping to do it. Idle by ignition, is that just where you say have the throttle open slightly then the ecu just controls the idle speed with missing sparks etc to maintain idle when the tps is below a certain opening point? ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

E48 uses pulse width modulation control for the idle control, that's why you can either set it to run a second set of injectors or a PWM idle valve. I think its the ICV used on the Bx 16V/ 405 Mi16 and Citroen XM/Peugeot 605 2.0. Big chunky Bosch with 3 pin connector. |

and where the filter is in your picture, stick a short hose and the valve on the end of it. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Isn't this going to be a massive boost leak being there?________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I was hoping that the icv would shut and seal the boost when the throttle position sensor says it's opened from the idle position? ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |
