Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.
My 6 has been off the road for nearly 5 years ,mot'd it etc car now back on road , so out couple of nights ago for a spin to discover headlights are both poor light and pattern although bulbs are bright , car is a p reg fitted with clear headlights , my question is when I select main beam are the dip bulbs supposed to extinguish or stay illuminated ??

Sure this question popped up recently....

If I'm not mistaken, I think on a Ph1 and Ph2, when the mains are switched on, the dipped beams go off. On the ph3, the dipped stay on when the mains are switched on.....think you can remedy it by fitting a ph3 light stalk.

Don't quote me on any of the above though!

Thanks Ben for the reply.
I have a 06 plate 206 and when you select main beam the dip also stays on so what you say may be right . Have tried a search but can't find a previous thread , thanks for the info anyone else able to confirm what Ben said please .
