Guys,Am looking at getting the main components of my rear beam powder coated. Beam tube, trailing arms, mount supports etc.
Now, they've all been blasted clean in the sand blaster but the beam tube was pretty crusty and rusty and is somewhat pock marked by the rust. I'm concerned that the powder coating process won't cover up the pitting etc and will be visible and the finish wont be great. I'm also aware that you can't powder coat over filler as it relies on the electrostatic action to hold the powder to the metal.
Is there anyway around this? I have some heavy zinc primer, the Bilt Hamber stuff, and was wondering if I could fill the imperfections, apply the zinc primer and powdercoat over the top of that?
Or am I barking up the wriong tree completely?
Thanks
