Hi guys, well got the phone call I've been waiting for, finally got hold of some Brembo's. I know this question has probably been covered 100000 times, but I can't find a guide I know I need 288 Xantia discs, but what else is needed please boys? I do want to keep the Cyclones by the way.cheers ________________________________________ Bianca 306 Rallye.Mondeo Titanium X. |

As welshpug said, big spacers. 20mm.This will also bring your tire into contact with the arch whilst cornering or over a big bump. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Sorry to bang on boys, but do they just bolt straight on then or is there a bracket required also? ________________________________________ Bianca 306 Rallye.Mondeo Titanium X. |

When installing them make sure the bleed nipples face upwards. I read on the french forums that this would prevent them from squealing. Apparently it has something to do with having the big piston facing down or something like that... |

Worth a try for the small amount of time it takes to fit. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

I was told so by few folks on the french forum. Apparently some were fitted upside down on the 406 V6 on the production line. Also the 406 V6 calipers are still used as the gravel/dirt brake setup on the C2R2 for example.Rather this is true or not, i can not confirm, but some french members say that their setup is silent |

When i fitted these to my 106 they squeeled like a bas**rd! I tried everything from taking the alloy plates off inside the caliper and cleaning to allow the pads to move easier, to putting disc squeel stop on the back of the pads to different disc off sets etc etc and bugger all worked |

So what actually causes the squeal then Mei? Is it pad material? ________________________________________ Bianca 306 Rallye.Mondeo Titanium X. |

It´s actually quite simple, set has wrong offset. Xantia disc, will sit aprox 1.3mm outwards from the center of the caliper, where theres only about 1.25mm gap between disc and caliper. First the disc will "file" down the caliper, and will be always totally out of place. You can read and check the pictures here: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=162232 |

So if I put the disc up in my lathe and machined 1.30mm off of the inside mating face, your saying it won't squeal? If that's the case, I'm willing to try it.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

I wouldnt machine off the inside of the disc. It only has about 6mm. But you can trim down that difference on the caliper, where it sits on the hub. I´m no t sure that´ll solve the squealing, havent tried it yet, but who knows. What I mean, is that its not exactly a direct fit 406 Brembos + 288x28 discs. As soon as I try that, i´ll post the results. But anyways, that´ll surely improve, as the disc will sit where it´s supposed to. |
