Right guys, gave the motor a wash on the weekend, and since then the 'STOP' light has constantly been on.Noticed it when I went out for a drive after washing her, immediately stopped as I thought it was engine related (low oil or something). Checked oil and it was fine, and engine has been performing absolutely fine since.
I have been using it for a few days now and the light still has not gone off, but the engine is absolutely fine.
I have done some research on here, and it appears as though non working fans can cause this issue?
Sure enough, I unplugged the brown sensor on the thermostat housing with the ignition on, and the fans do not kick in at all. I believe they should run at full speed with the plug not connected? So my fans are not working at all.
So my guess is that the STOP light is linked to fans not working? Guessing water has got inside something when I was cleaning the car on the weekend.
Where do I start next in trying to determine what it is that isn't working?! Could it be the Bitron?
It's my 1.8 16v by the way.
Cheers
