Hi there, after your help as usual guys.

It seems my Rallye is in need of the usual top mount repair. Well it was only a matter of time.

Daveyboy would be the obvious choice to do this but he has been absent lately and doesn't seem to receive PM's.

Does anyone have contact details or can get in touch with him on my behalf, or failing that can offer a similar service or recommend someone to me?

I don't mind travelling, well not too far say 100 miles each way, but would ideally like to get the job done on a Sunday if possible.

Cheers in advance

Barry

I think Jim (Daveyboy) is on facebook, you may be able to contact him that way.

Can someone pm his number also? Had a look at mine today and it's not in good shape! Trying to get hold of him to get it booked in.

To be honest, any welder can do this job. I recently had mine redone by a local mobile welder for 40 bucks. I told him what I was wanting, emailed him some photos and he brought a selection of plate thicknesses. After a bit of cutting, grinding and prep work, he welded in a cupped section of steel with captive nut welded to bottom. My only concern was him getting the hole in the correct location but it all worked perfectly and he even welded on a couple of tabs to remove the slack.

Yes but Southampton is quite a distance to travel from Glasgow, particularly if your engine isn't held in properly!

This is true. Daveyboy did mine and did a great job. I've since done some and it was fine.

Here's my attempts.

That looks really good seens as you stick welded it. It is a pretty simple repair tbf. But anyone wanting to use daveyboy will not be disappointed.

Mine is still holding strong so that can't be bad.
