I've choose to rebuild the old oneif i had a Dremel it would have been a lot easier, i used hammer & chisel, and strike on the ridges where it was pressed, then inserted the chisel in the gap between the cover and the body and prayed it with the help of a hammer, backward i used a welder , the next problem were to find replacement brushes, there is no such elaborate brushes in Israel as the original one, but i used a simple one that fits in the plastic cage exactly. the only problem was how to insert it with the wire, as the original was hollow for that purpose, so i used the excellent property of flattening of the Copper and hammered the round wire until is was flattened & thin enough to be squeezed onto it's fitting, other problem was that i didn't know the polarity arrangement of the permanent magnets of the stator, later i figured it is inside-out poles , so there is not any significant for the order. ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |

Top work. My dad loves this sort of stuff. When he was growing up they had to fix everything (even tyres!). So he loves it when people wind their own motors etc. Hope it all works! ________________________________________ Turned 40 and in true cliched fashion buying one of the cars of my teenage dreams! |

Thanks, BTW i used few drops from the Motul ATF for lubing the bearings, it made a huge improvement. MOS grease will destroy the motor, because the graphite is conductive. the motors works fine, the hard part was to figure out the polarity type and arrangement of the stator, after i solve it in a simple experiment i made, i could continue. ________________________________________ French military victories?Did you mean French military defeats? |
