Right, the 6' has been playing up for the past 2 weeks. Firstly when I start it the revs shoot up to 3k then drop down to 1.5k but hunt up and down on idle. Then if I try drive it like this and come off the throttle there is a jolt 1 second later and also while driving along sometimes the revs wont drop when I come off the throttle so it pretty much drives it self.

I've replaced:

ICV (magnetti)
Map sensor
Coolant temp sensor
Throttle position sensor (bosch)
Cleaned the throttle body out

I'll be getting a new lambda on saturday.

I tried an ECU reset today and took it for a long 20 mile blast and it was perfect, idled bang on and revs didn't hang or jolt. But when setting off back home after leaving the car 30mins it was back to square 1.

Any ideas?

I've had similar idling/hesitation/cutting out and coming back problems and I hooked the car up to a snap-on diagnostics machine and drove around. The only code that came back was a problem with the knock sensor circuit.

I then spoke to a master tech at Peugeot (after trying to acquire a new knock sensor which are not available anymore) and he said check the wiring out.

Aaaaannndd I'm yet to do that yet so that's the next step.

So might be worth a look if you've got the time to pull the manifold off, as it's just underneath it Smile

Try unplugging the PAS sensor and see if that helps mate.

Does the problem only occur when cold or all the time?

I unplugged the PAS sensor which solved a bad stalling problem I had on Weds. So it's still unplugged.

The problem does seem to be when it's cold. But it's as bad when it's fully warmed up.

I've got a bosch Lambda coming tomorrow so this is pretty much the last sensor before I've run out of ideas.

Well that brand new bosch Lambda has seemed to have cured my high idle start up and hanging revs.

It drives so smooth as well. Between gear changes and coming off throttle it use to jerk but now it's super smooth.

HUUUZZZAAARRR!!! (Lets see how long it lasts)

The car was perfect coming home from work. Then went to start the car 30mins later to go out and here we go again:

Bouncing idle, jolt/hesitation coming off throttle.

So, it's been happening a few times. But I seem to have found a way to cure it when it does happen.

When I start the car and it's idle is 3k and with the dodgy throttle response: I'll turn the car off, turn ignition on then off again then start the car.

This will cure the problem for the rest of the journey. I read somewhere on here that it recalibrates the sensors or something. I just need to figure out why the ecu is forgetting these sensors settings.
