The missus has a 307 diesel. Now, I'm always a passenger in this so I have only noticed this from being in the passenger seat.

When going around some bends, and the road may be a little bumpy, very occasionally it just feels like the car skips out a little. Not dangerously, but just feels noticeable. I doubt she has noticed tho.

Is this an indication of a shock needing replacement? More likely to be that than a mount or anything like that?

Depends on the mileage mate to be honest, I get a lot of 307's in with broken rear springs particularly just the end of the last coil snaps off. Have done a few shocks but not a lot really. They are a pretty bouncy car in general though. Got one customer who moans about the bouncy ride every time the cars in and all I can say is it drives like a 307 estate LOL

Try bouncing each corner, you'll easily see if a shock has gone

Yeh I will have to have everything a look at it. I was just curious if anyone else had had anything like it.

As said, it's not a big bounce or anything. Just feels like it skips ever so slightly on a bump in bend.

Yeh tyres are all good. I keep a check on them. I did wonder whether it might be just from the passengers side it was trying to bounce on the bumps. But I wasn't sure if that's just from being sat that side.

I havent looked at the rear suspension so I wasn't sure what the setup is back there. Automatically thought a damper may have been giving up the ghost.

Hasn't stopped raining since I got up this morning so no chance I was going to check it out today!

Mine was all over the place, but that was a different scenario as the previous owner fitted lowering springs and once compressed the coils bumped on each other pretty much restricting the suspension travel. Shocks were also dead so as the rubber inside the rear to mounts Big grin

I have fitted four new shocks / springs / top mounts and it was a different car. Ohh and I swapped the ditchfinders to brand new GoodYear winters.

As a side note to this can I ask what engine is in your 307 and what real world mpg u r getting and whether it's been reliable or not? Thinking about getting a 307 diesel as a daily...

1.6 hdi. 110hp I believe. It's usually getting 60-65 to the gallon. That's driving country lanes etc and not many dual carriage way miles. Seems reliable touch wood. Just this skipping which is most likely a shock. Bit everything else is fine.

Nice comfy car also.

Yeah it was the 1.6 110 I was looking at in sw guise tho. Love the panram roof and general spec of the high spec ones. Think the 90 would be pretty gutless. And think the more modern 1.6s over the older 2.0s
