I can't release the tension on the fan belt on my replacement engine when I did it very easily not long ago on my old engine.

Literally can't work it out, I've read all the pages about undoing this and that, and using a socket in the bottom of the tensioner bit. nope.

The slidey bracket that goes between the alt and the PAS pump just fired across the room on the new one but released all problems on the old one.

How much of a retard am I being?

However, man power is winning so far today. Found a bar to extend my 3/8ths and it slowly moved.

Did you lock it off with the right sized drill bit so you can refit it all easy?
