In the last stages of restoring a rallye just need to get the car to garage to put new fresh engine in, problem is I can't get it started.

Car has sat for maybe 2 months, i've got a fresh new battery in it, but when I turn it over it cuts out and the dials shot round to 100 mph and 6000 rpm
Any advice please

poor connection, typically on the battery terminals, or a damaged earth or live cable.

Sorted, a jump from other car and a temp earth to gear box with spear jump lead, all good again.

Thank you
