my fibreglass tank guard i ordered from ramsport has arrived and i haven't got a clue how i'm supposed to fit it LOL

a few more pics here

i thought at first that it would go over the bottom of the tank and be held up by the support brackets but looking at the tank thats fitted on car that wouldn't work.

has anyone ever fitted one of these tank guards or something similar? what do i do about the tank head shield and the handbrake cables as the guard will cover where they are supposed to go! Crazy

best way is to remove tank from car and remove heat shield from tank when tank is of vehicle fit guard and trim were required , you might have to do slight adjustment to support bracket when refitting tank and handbrake cable goes on underside of guard , never bothered refitting exhaust heat shield ,better of glueing heat reflecting cloth

cheers Wayne Smile i had another look at the guard before and it will definitely require some trimming to make it fit properly Yes can't see the support brackets going around it so will leave them around the tank and make some straps up. good thinking on the heat shield cloth Thumbs up

i think its time to admit defeat getting the car finished for the prom stages rally and find an alternative vehicle Sad
