At the moment the shock strut is hard up against the top mount then top hat cup, washer then nut and they feel a bit notchy when turning the steering wheel!
I believe its the first assembly stack up mentioned but need some reassurance please

Been a loooong time since iv built coilovers up with standard top mounts and I can't remember if I need to put the washer on the shock and then the top mount, top hat cup and then nut?At the moment the shock strut is hard up against the top mount then top hat cup, washer then nut and they feel a bit notchy when turning the steering wheel! I believe its the first assembly stack up mentioned but need some reassurance please |

Anyone? Maybe if I explain my self a bit better.. Do I need to put a washer on the piston before fitting the top mount? |

I put the small washer each side not shown on tube of shock first ....doesn't show it in this picture !!!Does this Picture help ? Day666 has attached the following image: |

That's were the washer is on mine atm and it feels a bit notchy when turning the shock by hand with weight off the suspension! When I put coilovers on my bmw I got told to put a washer between the rod/piston and the under side of the top mount Edit: just noticed that 70 + 71 are washers so it appears I do need to install one between the rod and top mount that picture helped a lot after looking at it properly |

Would be a pain to build them & take them apart because of these two small washers....glad the Pic helped ....70 & 71 should be shown clearly in the main Pic not just a number |
