Hi every one, done a search but can't find anything to help me. Going to fit my front B8's with Eibach springs this week. Just about to build them up with all new parts but I was wondering with my OEM bump stops will need cutting down to allow more travel or if people have been running them with out cutting the bump stops down. Thanks James. ________________________________________ FB: South Downs French Car ClubDiablo 6 2001 low boost Diablo 6 2000 100% standard working air con Vw Caddy tdi work van |

B8's have internal bumpstops although I know that a few people use shortened bumpstops from a 206 GTi. I'm sure the part number is on here if you have a look.________________________________________ '98 Nile Blue 306 GTi 6 |

Aren't b8s inverted? Afaik inverted Billies have an internal bumpstop and conventional ones require an external bumpstop. If in doubt contact the supplier or bilstien uk. ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

205 b8's certainly are, if its a 40mm shaft then definitely, I think the 26 ish mm ones are imternal too.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I googled a picture and they look like standard dampers(20mm ish rod), rubbish! Looking at the price I assumed they'd use the motorsport type inserts. There's a thread already anyways...... http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=112804 ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

Was told they don't have internal bumpstops ......I bought B8s & Eibachs for my 6 & new Gen 6 Peugeot bump stops ...they are approx 3.5inchs long new & cut mine down to 1.5inchs or two grooves.... which I was recommended to do by Bilstein uk stand at FCS Castle Coombe 2014. B8s have short tubes than stnd ones ...so you need shorter Bumpstops they said ....if you put them next to stnd 6 shocks you will see diff & they arn't inverted .! PS .....Bilstein boys said Coilovers coming out Sep which will fit 6s ...just need a drop link clamp & bracket made up cause not one welded on |

Just because the body is shorter doesn't necessarily mean the bumpstop needs to be shorter, your car may well hit the deck before your shock bottoms out now If that's what bilstien recommended though it must be right! Christ knows why they don't supply them?! You can already get bilstien coilovers with drop link tabs that will fit the 306?! For inverted inserts anyhow. Thinking about it..... If the body is shorter I'm guessing the spring pan is also lower so how much extra do they lower the car? Or am I confused and you mean the damper rod is shorter? ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

I reckon with the b8s when the car is on the ground it would be sat on the standard length bumpstops, I built mine up with the standard length ones and they wasn't far off before I even fitted to car so I removed and cut about an inch off them.________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

So you have just over an inch of travel before hitting the bumpstops? ________________________________________ www.bridgecraftmotorsport.co.uk |

Probably have about 2 inch I couldn't say bit using standard bump stops on b8s with eibach springs resulted in about 1-2 inch of travel before the bump stop and that was without even fitting to the car so it would of been less with the weight of the car in them, that's why I cut the bumpstops down between 1-2 inch, it's so long ago I can't remember exact________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
