Recently I ordered new rear brake pads - mintex racing mdb1339 m1144 from ebay.co.uk

Today the pads arrived. They seems original and new, but something bothers me a lot. The thickness of the braking material is only 4.5mm !!! The full thickness (including the metal + braking material) is a bit less than 10mm.

According to the catalog - they should be 11mm, but I'm not sure if this is the total thickness or only the braking material thickness.

Can anyone advice if there is something wrong with my new brake pads?

There's f**k all friction material on any of those rear callipers on 306's saxos 106's 206's and Renault clios. All the same about 5mm of material is all they ever come with. You'll find when you wind the piston back in that you couldn't get much more in there anyway.

s**tty design IMO.

It's been very long time since last rear breaks change - for 5 years this is the second change on this car. Last time I didn't notice what was the thickness.

Thanks for the info, I'll go ahead and will not worry Smile
