Hi all,

Have had this problem a few times, tends to be after a few stop start journeys, engine warm. Upon returning to the car after leaving it for an hour or so, it starts well as normal and sits at about 900rpm but doesn't feel quite right, then over 20 seconds or so the idle dips and dips until it cuts out. Start again and it'll do the same, start a third time and it's steady as a rock and drives like it too. If I blip the throttle it'll stop it from stalling but still doesn't run 100%.

Goes through thousands of miles driving perfectly, then this dodgy idle, then back to perfect.

Any ideas? Dunno

The first thing I'd look at is the ICV. You can test it with a multimeter, however cleaning it up might cure the issue.
There is a guide in the FAQ section if you are unsure of how to do this.

I did clean it last year, sorry should have mentioned that. I'll give it another go.

Every 6 I've had does this at some time or another.

Nearly always the ICV or MAP.

Another vote for dirty/worn ICV. Yes

Could be dirty again or needing replacement....as previously said, it is possible to test them with a multimeter, there is a guide in the FAQ.
ICVs are such a common fault on these though that if money isn't tight a new replacement one would probably be good.
