I have a set of 205 spoox camber adjustable top mounts on my car and they knocking like fu*k. I called them on Friday and told them the problem that I am getting movement and they are banging on. The reply I got was

Spoox: "No it wont be the top mounts, they are solid and we have never had this problem before"

I told them well its definitely the top mounts as you can see the bearing moving up and down, I have fitted new ball joints, drop links, track rod ends so its not any of them.

Spoox: " I would have another check of your front end if I was you, the top mounts should not have up and down movement as the bearings are of a high quality!"

Basically trying to fu*k me off. So I told them the top mounts were new in January and I am not happy so want a replacement set of bearings or top mounts. Will be calling them back Tuesday to see what they have to say.
Any one else had any problems with the top mounts?

Remove the top mounts as this will show it 100%. They should have replacements on the shelf so front end would only be apart for a few days

I use the car as my daily so cant really take the car off the road at the minute. Could probably do it the same time I do my engine work but all depends on how quick they send the bearings out

Other option is to get a video of the movement and try to send it to them? To move around enough to bang then it must be a fair amount of movement?

I had exactly the same problem, sourced a replacement bearing from a standard bearing company somewhere, never got around to fitting them, sold it with the car.

But yes, i had exactly this issue but the bearings are just off-the-shelf items.

Parts like that take a lot of load and wear quickly. They won't last even a quarter of the time a standard top mount bearing will. Look at the surface area of the bearing compared to standard, it's tiny. They are a race part and should be checked often and replaced accordingly. Road miles will quickly put slop into rose joints, spherical top mounts etc. that's just how it goes.

Can't argue with any of the above.
Puglover bought a pair of top mounts from them, before they were fitted they were rattling like fook, they had been manufactured on the cheap, both bearing surfaces were made out of aluminium & obviously designed by a 4 year old with a crayonDoh
In my own honest personal opinion, anyone buying anything from this company deserves to have a large horse penis rammed up their bottom, balls deep!
Annnnd relax!

Cool

I bought them 2nd hand but seem to be pretty much the same as compbrake ones and similar to KAD ones. Will replacing the bearings sort my issue?

New bearings should sort out the knocking. For how long - depends on the quality of bearings.
As others have said, even best ones are not going to last nearly as long as standard topmounts.

The other problem that I have seen with some topmounts is the bearing itself moving in the housing. This can be sorted out with some Loctite bearing fit.
