Well got the Wheels ....but it's looking s**te for the tyres !!!!!May end up running supersoft slicks for Pugfest ...which I'm not 100% sure your allowed to do ?....anybody Know for sure ???? That means I've got to take spare wheels Rang 8 Motorsport tyre suppliers today ...& on top of that rang these main tyre people Avon/ Michelin/ Toyo/ Yoko/ Dunlop/ Hankook / Dmack / Pirelli / Hoosier..... NONE of them have instock even if they make them 200-215 / 40-610/ 17" road legal super soft or soft tyres .!!!! Only Supersoft & Soft Slicks sourced 200/610/17 & 215/610/17 but telephone numbers money Loads are showing instock on websites but out of stock when you order !!!! Pete it's getting beyond a joke m8 !!!!I'm after a set of Soft or Supersofts 205/40/17 or 215/40/17 at a push & I'm aware I'll have to drive to Pugfest on the back roads slow not to ruin them !!!! Slicks are a last option but don't want to take spare wheels & it doesn't seem right running slicks as my cars NOT that serious !!! My 205/50/16 Dunlop DZ03gs are & were by far the best tyres I've used but 215/45/17 will just catch /hit all over the place on my car !!! May end up going that route as no other choice !!! Everybody's showing v70a soft / Supersofts but really they are out of stock !!!!! Got a Stapletons in Portishead nr ME Pete & they don't have anything of interest m8 .....my m8 from ATS has tried but thanks It seems all the tyres I'm after come in via the Back door grey market & in small numbers & because no moneys made on Specialist tyres anymore ...very few stock them now !!! Cams lol on Friday have been bloody amazing & Have gone out there way to search about & give options ...they can help me out in September but not Now !!! I'll get something !!!!! |

I may only get a days hill climb out of the 2 fronts but hell they should give me some grip ....hopefully & no slicks needed now .... big money saved for the Engine fund next year Photos to follow |

I'll see when I get them ....don't mind driving up at 40-50 & keep off the m5 !!!! |

armzs16 wrote: Why not just buy some Michelin PS3's like a normal person lol unless you have money to burn Pete ...PS3s are amazing Road & Rain Tyres but that's where it ends ! If you get the correct Tyre for the Job it makes a massive Difference No way would you of lasted at Combe on PS3s & I'm really going to be going for it at Pugfest ....if you love them great all the best to you but I like correct tyre for the job ... I'll be surprised if you will get enough heat in them at Prescott to get 100% out of them !!!! I believe you used them Last year.... but you will find with LSD this year & stiffer suspension this year your tyres may not be up to it ? Unless it rains ? I'm giving my self the best possible chance at Pugfest & after all it is only once a year PS I'm totally Skint !!!! |

Also got told something interesting today by John @ http://www.jdmotorsporttyres.co.uk ..The main issues with temp change in track-day tyres is water that enters via the airline ....He said it's why lots of people's tyre have such a temp change ....I never thought of this myself but makes total sense & I'm going to see it I can make sure I get someone to fit them with a airline water canister filter |

If it was a timed event mate I'd agree 100% I'd be on R888's or slicks and be running camber etc but it's just a larf so my normal top end road tyres will be up to the job. Don't see the point in spending loads on specific tyres for a hillclimb event unless it was an actual event not use of hill with no timers if you wish to do so.Was thinking if you got the money then why the hell not but if your as skint as me at the minute lol...... Look forward to seeing what sorta times you run tho. Could do a wager if I get quicker times than you I get your MO5's ________________________________________ Black power baby! Could do a wager if I get quicker times than you I get your MO5's I hope you don't regret saying that about Tyres Pete ? I'm learning really fast off the real people that race m8 How much have we both spent in two years on stuff to make our cars better ???? The most important thing at Combe was my tyres The most important thing at Prescott is going to be Tyres / softer Suspension & still tyres that grip under braking if your going to be pushing it !!!!! It's once a year & I'm going to & past my ability & will need all the help I can get !!!! Hope I don't crash ....If I crash ....I want to know It wasent anything other than a mistake by me The Tyres for me personally are key to everything & loads of people seem to forget this ? Lots of people are running DZO3gs now ...even down to the canvas at Combe they we're faultless & I was on one totally on the limit & sometimes well past it ....the tyres gave me confidence to just keeping pushing past what I thought was my Limit ...no bull .......not many straights to get all your power down on Prescott Pete lots of balls out corners ... What are you going to put up then ....PS ...Do you really think anybody doesn't care about getting up the hill faster than his m8 ....they might not admit it ...everybody wants to win & get the Girl / trophy it's just not everybody believes they can & just do there best ..... Loads of people always at Pugfest with super amazing cars but no idea of driving them !!!...that's the people who say they don't care about winning I still love there cars but never want a ride gunshot in them I call it the XFactor syndrome ....3 judges say they are rubbish but still they say they don't know what they are on about Pete I've spent a small fortune on my car this year & I've never enjoyed myself so much as I have this year m8 ....everything added up together amounts to a lot ....I've only got maybe 180 useable power but it's going to be used that's for sure Pete Really can't wait .... My cars almost there for me ....new engine may never happen as this ones good enough & more than quick enough ....maybe I should learn to keep going past my limits in it before spending out on a Engine that may be far to much for my driving skill....maybe just cams & Pocketed Pistons & a little head work next year ? See ya all there ..... |

You shouldn't be pushing anywhere near hard enough to crash at Pugfest, it is NOT a competitive event, there is NO timing. What with the chances of damp, especially at the upper areas under the trees, I'd stick to a good road or fast road type tyre. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Miles wants a go also & I've promised him ....he never has anything other than flat out ...smooth though Yes it's NON competitive....I'm wanting to push my ability safely up that hill ....I don't care about others times ....just that I did my best .....that's why I choose the tyres ...confidence in the car ....after all I built the thing & that's the real buzz Lots of great cars on here are Show cars or stripped out fully trackday/ race cars used on the road or trailered to the track cars ? ....totally amazing cars but I've done all that in Stereo in car championships in a mini clubman & now Trackdays & hill climbs get my juices going & surely that's what it's all about ..... ....I love the thought of driving there still in some comfort at least |
