Also, what would you recommend as change intervals? Before on the standard engine i was changing every year/6000 miles. Is this ok or shorten it?
Cheers

I want to start using a good quality oil to protect my engine. It had a full rebuild 200 miles ago. I ran it for about 20 miles with mineral oil then ran it on Shell Helix HX7 but i want to do another change now for something which I'm going to be running it on for the rest of its life. Bearing in mind its a supercharged engine, roughly 220hp, what would you recommend? Im not worried about spending extra if its going to offer me better protection. Also, what would you recommend as change intervals? Before on the standard engine i was changing every year/6000 miles. 10w40 semi synth is what pug recommends but I know rich recommends royal purple for boosted engines. As for intervals for oil changes - that's up to you ? 6k is prob a good time to do it but I guess it depends on how much fuel is getting dumped into the engine |

normal oil will suffice if you can control oil temps.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Well I'm using a thermostatic 13 row oil cooler and never really drive the car hard for long periods of time so don't think temps are going to be an issue. Since the new engine and cooler, oil temps haven't gone about 85.If thats the case, i may just stick with the standard Total Quartz 9000 with a genuine filter every 6k as on my old engine, it always seemed to run much smoother on that. |

Not sure what temp the thermostatic sandwich plate opens at ? I'd keep an eye on it as if it's fuelling a lot it will thin the oil |

Its now been mapped though and runs spot on so don't think thats an issue but still want to be keeping an eye on it. |
