Actually I just checkes and the grind does still happen I neutral just really faint... If you take a corner I neutral but rev it a little the noise is louder. Seems to be more about the Revs than the gear. |

just waiting to get mine in the garage now to chick it all out again with the engine mount this time... Its really odd as sometimes its a really loud grind which makes me want to actually stop and park the car up as it sounds painful to the car haha.Other times its fairly quiet/ non existent (but not often)... Unless you've already checked your mount and ruled it in/ out? |

Right just to let you know I've finally sorted mine...The exhaust centre section was sitting over to one side after recently fitting a new back box. I changed the centre section to match (scorpion) and it now sits central with no noise when turning So I think I had two problems... One with cv joint and one with exhaust which both made the noises described above. Hope you find yours out and don't forget to report back. |

cheers - ive had mine in 2 garages now and they both say the drive shaft so gonna get that sorted. I asked them to check the engine mounts so if they are saying drive shaft I am guessing they have. My yearly service is due on the exhaust in the next month so I'll get that done at the same time the.Cheers for that! |

Unless they've never been removed and they're seized into the hub like mine were. I had to take a sledge hammer to it and mushroomed the end of it which, when I did finally free it up (after about half an hour of smashing it per side) I had to then grind down the end so it would fit through the hub. ________________________________________ Team Peugeot Sport 308 GtiBlack T'99 Gti - may she rest in peace - written off in a shunt on the A329m |

I did this with my mondeo, sometimes it's better to go get the correct tool than just start noshing away, wish I'd just gone and got a puller for it. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

we're all sorted now. Garage was gonna replace the drive shaft but they managed to just get a knuckle for it instead and that's cured it so got it cheaper than I thought in the end - just gotta get bearings done now but least that horrible horrible noise has gone. |
