Hi guys.

Bit of a weird one!
I am getting a whistling noise from (what I'm 99% sure is) an injector.

These are Vauxhall C20XE cream coloured Bosh injectors on a fuel rail on a Cammed 106 Gti, Jenvey ITB.

This noise appears about a minute after running the car in idle and gets progressively louder. Similar noise to a small bird rhythmically whistling or a squeaky alt belt. It's a definitely coming from an Injector.

The noise only happens on idle and disappears as engine revs then comes back when it idles.

Car doesn't bog down or idle irregularly, it been mapped for the bodies a while back too so no s**tty standard map.

What causes an injector to WHISTLE? worn O rings? I am getting a video tomorrow and will check for air leaks with carb cleaner spray.

Also.. I know someone selling refurbished and ultrasonically cleaned C20XE Injectors for a decent price but are injectors affected by a remap at all or will I be fine buying these?

Possibly an air leak causing it - you need to do the spray trick and see what happens. Yes

Its probably cheaper to get yours stripped down and ultasonic cleaned. Simon had his done for £90.

Couple of bolts on the Jenvey inlet weren't very tight, done them up and now it's quiet.

Cheers guys
