Hi

just found where the disturbing noise is coming from on my car as when i came back from my first test session it had an intermittent noise like a bottom end rattle!!!!!

I pulled the engine out and took the box off and when i went to remove the flywheel it was loose? after inspection it looks like the bolts had bottomed on the crank and it was only nipping the flywheel so once the power was applied on it it worked lose ?

Anyone else had this problem ?

This is a super high boost engine...

Martry

flywheel doesn't use "bolts" and isn't into blind holes, so it can't have bottomed out.

So what holds the flywheel on then ?

They can bottom out as they are blind drilled into the crank.

What crank are you using?

The standard crankshaft has thru-holes for the flywheel bolts, so they can't bottom out.

The lightened flywheel has a thinner bolted flange than OEM, to save weight, so you may need shorter bolts if your crankshaft has bolt holes of a finite depth.

Rich
