Hi guys,
Ive fitted my new engine to the car now and am running it NA at the moment using a good map on a omex 600. When driving about, the car runs fine but on idle, i get quite a common misfire. This disappears after about 1100rpm. Everything is brand new with exception of the coil pack (from a 106 S2 Rallye). Any ideas? Im using BCR8ES plugs which were recommended to me by track and road for when it is running supercharged. Could this be it?
I just want an idea of what it could be before it goes off for mapping incase it is a bad coil pack.

Cheers

How much boost are you looking to run?

The reason I ask is because a standard '6' should run heat range 6 plugs. On low boosts, we have always run heat range 7 and on high and super high boost, heat range 8. I think your plugs are too cold for no boost and the current ambient temp. Yes

I will be running about 5-6 psi with any luck. T&R specifically recommended them to me for when its boosted so really, i should run standard plugs until it goes for mapping. Mind you, it won't be used till its mapped but i just don't want to miss anything obvious and deliver it to them misfiring because of something else.

Swap the plugs to heat range 6 and test it.

If it's fine, leave them in there and swap them back at mapping stage. Although, bear in mind low boosts run circa 7psi and run perfect on heat range 7. Yes
