On the Rallye I'm having a few issues with the brake light switch, I have fitted a new one which isn't a problem but the white plastic holder in the top of the pedal box does not grip the switch properly so does not allow the switch to operate properly and the whole unit gets pushed back and doesn't operate the switch.

Was trying to be clever earlier and fit a cir clip on the bulkhead side to grip but didn't really work as the space is so limited it's a nightmare to try and get it on there!

Have been looking on servicebox and I think the holder can be bought separately. If anyone knows the part I'm on about can you please confirm that part number 5 on the diagram is the correct one?

Ow yes. I orderd 3 switches from three diffrent sources and the switches were all diffrent and gave me the same symptos. I ended up using my initiative. I used electrical tape to thicken the bore of the switch so it would click in place and stay. It took me a couple of attempts to get it right. I ment to replace it when i found a correct one but hasnt let me down. Its been like that for 4 months

Yes, number 5 is the holder for the switch. A rather fiddly job but doable.

I'd have just put some PTFE tape or similar round the switch to make it bind in there a bit better. Pain in the arse job to do those

As the switch has grooves in it I used a metal clip the same as on the end of the accelerator cable as my local Peugeot were making hassle of getting me the proper piece to hold it.

It Worked perfectly and never gave me a problem again.

Well got another replacement brake light switch and holder today from Peugeot and just for reference the above part numbers are correct and the cost was just over £11 for the pair. Am going to try and fit them tomorrow so will either be thoroughly f**ked off or satisfied by the end of the evening!!
