Sorry, but what you have said doesn't really make any sense. Perhaps restructure your sentence and someone maybe able to help. Are you saying that your engine and rev counter are working fine, but that your MPH gauge stops working on occasion? ________________________________________ 1992 Onyx Black 205 GTI-62005 Honda S2000 (Sold) 2002 Audi S3 (Sold) 2005 Clio 182 Trophy (sold) |

If you mean what gman says then it could be your VSS (speed sensor) that needs replacing. Mine does this on and off whilst im driving. Ive purchased a new speed sensor but haven't fitted it as yet but i've heard its a good place to start. |

If you are saying your speedo is dropping to 0 and then kicking back in again, then its most likely the VVS sensor on the gearbox. If you are saying you'll be driving along and the engine, is misfiring or cutting out, its probably likely to be a sensor of some sort (MAP Sensor, TPS, ICV) ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

Sounds like its going into neutral. Not sure if the speedo goes to zero though, never really tried myself.I have no idea what the issue is, but then I still dont fully understand what you are explaining ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Ive just had a new 5 plate ceramic paddle clutch in few month ago:/ I was going back to work last night and I noticed I could get up 100+mph fine but when I let off acceleration it feels like its bogging out ive put it down to either vvs sensor like you guys have said or its misfiring from plugs or spark leads but I could be wrong ________________________________________ good to go!! |

My money would be on a map sensor, although this wouldn't cause an issue with the speedo. You could try driving it with the MAP sensor disconnected and see if there is an improvement. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

The car won't run with the map sensor disconnected...Could be a lambda issue, unplug the lambda plug in the engine bay and reset the ecu (battery disconnected for 5-10mins) and give it a run to see if anything's improved |
