Nope.
The reason they don't misfire is because the valve (despite being bent) is overpowered by the valve springs and still seals correctly on shutting. The issue with this is, every time the spring forces the valve head back into the seat, it has to slightly 'unbend' the valve stem. After a period of time doing this, the stem eventually weakens and the valve head snaps off destroying the engine. Some have had this happen after a few miles of tapping, others have done 50,000 miles with a tapper before the valve has let go, it's random.
