would work if you used a 205 rad.

Then that means piping in a header tank. If I was to fit a header I would probably run a R5 turbo alloy rad. Will allow more room for oil cooler ect...

This is going to sound really thick but where do the pipes go?

Do they literally just run from the cooler to the stat and back? My car has the cooler fitted but the stat is in my boot...what causes/propels water to flow etc?!

Ok help! Finally got the car on stands and can see how/where the stat goes, what's not clear is the filter? Does the stat replace what looks like a fairly large collar already ok there or do the filters come with a long enough thread to pass through the stat and still go into the block?

I've yet to take the filter off (only done 2 k since changed last)....

Finally, previous owner said it's running 5w/40, does that sound right?

Cheers!!

My thermostatic sandwich plate bolted to the oil filter mounting using a piece supplied with the kit, then the filter screwed onto that.

Ah crap, thanks

I have a Mocal one that looks very similar to yours, but I don't have anything to fix it to the block with? Literally the stat housing and pipe work?

(It came with the car... So don't know if something has been lost?)

The pipe work I have is push fit rubber too, most seem to use braided, is there a reason for this?

Cheers!!

Braided just protects hose from chaffing. Mines a mocal and it came with a little center adaptor. M22 threaded iirc. I'll see if I can find one on the net.

You need the filter adaptor you can see fitted in the center of the sandwich plate. Give mocal a buzz. They should be able to supply one cheap enough. Maybe someone on here has one. I think it's actually M20 threaded, not M22.
