Hi all,

I´m in negotiations to earn an S16 and as I have a spare gti6 engine, would like to know what do I need to swap the engines..
I´ve swapped my old 1.8 16v with the XU10J4RS engine but it was almost a straight in installation, I believe that the S16 wiring loom needs much more modifications. My questions is: Will it worth the patience/time (if there are too much wires to re-connect) or its easier if I just bought a gti6 wiring loom?

Cheers Thumbs up

Thanks for your replys Thumbs up yes, maybe I didn´t explain it in the best way.. I have the gti6 engine loom too, but will it work fine if I just plug the gti6 engine loom with the rest of s16 loom? What about the instrument cluster, can I just sawp with a ph2/3 it and it´ll work normally too? Dunno

Yep just plug and play, you can use your original cluster, only thing that won't work is the oil pressure gauge, lower rad hose might be different depending on what style connection you have on the rad

if you use the engine loom it'll be fine, just bear in mind things like speedo drive / clocks. is the s16 cable driven speedo?

Was done very tidily in my S16 everything worked spot on bar the oil pressure sensor as mentioned. I didn't go the conversion though so can't really help with what they used. I had the 6 engine with the S16 box though. Was fuuuuun!

My s16 was a late one which didn't have a cable operated speedo so you might be lucky
