Is it possible that the battery is simply at the point of no return? Or maybe something else..

My gti6 has been standing outside for six months with the battery disconnected. I recharged the battery and tried to start it. When I turn the ignition, all the dash lights come on and I'm able to enter my immobilsor code. But when I actually try and start it I just hear a ''click'' sound and everything goes dead. Then I am unable to do anything as there is no battery power. Is it possible that the battery is simply at the point of no return? Or maybe something else.. |

dcc wrote: voltage doesnt show CCA Stan Yeah I know, but it would be good to know if the battery was at least showing the correct voltage to start with. Obviously, if you could do a drop test on it, that would be even better. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I tend to check the old fashioned way, headlights on, try to crank it and obviously if they go dim your battery isn't up to the job, if they don't your problem will be something else________________________________________ Ryan |

Cold weather is hard on batteries esp if not used. It might have been marginal beforehand and after 6 months it lost the will to live. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |
