I have just bought a 306 rallye that was a bit of a track ish day / autotest car.

It hasnt got any seatbelts front or rear

I intend to take the belts from my donor gti6 & fit them to the rallye

And advice on how to do it without a lot of dammage or hassle?

Or even better is there a step by step guide about?

Not as hard as you think, just remember tho the seat belt holders are angle sensitive, so you will find you cant pull the belt out unless it bolted to the car.

Is your donor 6 a car you care about trying to sell the rear quarter trims and ABC pillars? If not it's easy and the careful approach doesn't matter to get to the belt bolts.

Rears remove C pillars from body Torx screws to expose 17mm holding bolt (iirc if not 19mm) unbolt from chassis then move rear seat up and undue the bolts holding them to the chassis. Centre belt is obviously all bolted under the seat.

Front belts need the rear quarter cards removing, screws top and bottom in line with B pillar as well as the other hidden and obvious screws around card and behind pocket panel etc. Pull the seat belt adjustor cover off to reveal screw holding that to the B pillar that then exposes the bolt to release the top of the belt. Then undue the bolts holding the belt to the metal rod going into the frame of the car in the foot well. Wiggle these around to release from being attached to the car and remove the main unit from the car. Be careful though as there are quite a lot of different seat belts that were fitted through the years so may not work swapping from donor to rallye due to angle of body and ball bearing in the unit that gives the release and lock function. More than likely will work though.

Once you start removing the plastics it all becomes fairly easy.

right, i have managet to most of the bits out of the rallye (stage 1 of fitting) but in the process have broken the bit that slides up & down on the pillar that the belt goes through

any tips on the best way to remove these properly?

How you manage that? Glaringly obvious once you pull the adjustor cover off.
