Check for water at sensor points on the engine, you may well have water sitting on top of the gearbox which won't do the crank sensor much good.

How far did you drive it after you went through the 'puddle'?

3 to 4 miles the funny thing is all the windows steamed up straight after hitting the puddle and it sounded like the exhaust was blowing .

It's really not No

Just have to whip the coil pack cover off, take out the coil packs, unscrew the spark plugs and have a look inside Smile

How deep was the puddle/lake?

Whereabouts in Oxford are you mate? If you want you can PM me your number and I might be able to come and help you get the coilpacks off and sparkplugs out, got spark plug removal sockets etc.

What Stan has suggested is a good shout also It's worth trying the big red button located behind the battery box, if this got damp it could have popped and will have cut your fuel.

Another thing I'd look at is down behind the battery box you'll find a double relay, If this has got wet it'll cause you issues.

Ok. In that case I won't be free to lend a hand until friday/next weekend if you needed it.

If it is turning over and but not firing it could just be something simple like wet plugs, wet relays or wet sensors as stated above.

Are you running an exposed cone?
