Morning another issue I have with the car since I bought it is very jerky when coasting. does this sound like a driveshaft issue? if it is I'm lip cult enough to have a pair of brand new shafts sat in the garage just wondering if people think it's this before I change them over. cheers________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

More likely engine mounts with excess movement maybe? Wouldn't imagine shafts cause a jerky-ness. |

Shafts gone will cause gearstick shake, not jerkyness. As Devere says, either engine mounts or a misfire on coasting causing excess engine movement. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

the gear stick does shake. it's at low coasting revs say around 1.5-2.5k under load there's no jerkiness and at high revs none. still sound like mounts?________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Under load is where you would find gearstick shake if the shafts had gone. ![]() ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Well I have a full set of vibratechnics mounts I may try swapping them over see if that helps. just I was told that they'd been changed before I got the car. but maybe they have already failed ________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

Top mount broken where it bolts to the body, as per the seemingly common failure? |

Could be, but that is usually accompanied by a 'click' sound when going on and off the throttle. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

The gearbox and top engine mounts were changed when I had it, not new items but ones from the grey car!I did have a look for cracks in the mount but it didn't appear to have any when I changed them bud |

Is it actually a misfire or is it just a bit of popping on the over run? What exhaust has it got? Or is the whole thing relatively standard? |
