Sorry for this really stupid question, but how do you make sure you've got the clutch fork behind the bearing when refitting the gearbox. Is it just a case of feeling behind with your fingers. I feel a bit stupid at the moment |

There is an inspection panel on the bell housing which you can just see into I think.________________________________________ Phase 2 Blaze GTi6PS3 - Black Ops 2 Engine crane for hire Renfrewshire |

If you shine a torch down the gap at the top, through the cutout next to the crank sensor, you will just about see it. Also, once the box is on and flush with the block, temporarily fit the clutch release arm. Does the pin hole line up so that the arm sits in the same place as before you dismantled it? If so, I'd say it's pretty much sure that you done it right. Once the arm is on and the fork IS located correctly, you will find that there will be a small amount of backwards and forwards free play on the arm. If it's stuck solid, then something is wrong. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
