Were you completely off the throttle? If the car doesn't like rolling in gear or picking up the revs from rolling in gear it could be the ICV or throttle position sensor. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

It's when I come of throttle so, like I'm doing 60 I let go of throttle and let it go down to 45-50 and keep it there, that when it does it |

Is your ICV clean? If you have a multimeter you could try testing it as well?Does it do this in other gears? ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

No I only realised in 5th gear, how would I test it and if I was to clean it what would be the best thing to use for cleaning it thanks |

http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=17020 Here's the FAQ on it. I've cleaned these a few times, I always remove it from the housing thing it sits in, and remove the two o-rings. I use brake cleaner to clean the housing and the valve, put a tiny bit of WD40 on the valve after cleaning, and wipe the o-rings with WD40. I also remove the whole inlet pipe and clean that as it gets full of muck and oil from the breather on the throttle body. It might not be the ICV but if it hasn't been cleaned and it is full of muck it is worth doing anyway as it is a very quick and easy job. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Not sure, but give it a go just to be on the safe side. Here is the ECU reset FAQ: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=16861 Basically, if you've disconnected the battery to clean out the ICV etc. then if you refit it afterwards it should be fine, if cleaning it doesn't work, the ICV itself could be going dodgy or it could potentially be something else. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

It won't be the ICV when the engine is above idle already. What rpm was the engine doing at 45-50mph in 5th at the time? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It sounded like the problem was when the engine was allowed to have the revs drop to barely above rolling in gear? The icv has caused problems with this for me in the past.________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

I just seen some videos on peugeot 306 icv problems on YouTube, and mine ain't that bad because the ones I seen are Idling quite badly, with mine when I start it from cold it revs stay abit above 1000, but as it warms up they drop to just under 1000, this pull back problem only occurred as I was doing 60And dropped speed down to 45-50 but once increased up again it felt ok, so would you guys think it's the icv ? Hope you lot can help |

Lambda sensor starting to play up.If this starts to happen constantly, unplug the lambda sensor and then go for a drive. If the problem has gone, then replace the lambda. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Thanks stan, sorted so if it's not the lambda sensor it will be the icv, I have noticed abit of ticking/knocking where the lamba sensor goes in to the manifold would this be a sign of it on way out or is that just me thanks guys |

Are we talking about a GTi-6 engine here, because I was under the impression it was? If not, it sounds like you have a 'TU' engine there. However, the same diagnosis applies. Unplug the lambda to see if that causes the issue if it happens again. The sensor itself will fail internally it if fails, so the "ticking" noise you hear won't be anything to do with it. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

On a gti-6 engine these plug into the top of the manifold and are also pretty cheap. If you do have a gti-6, the lambda sensor will be in the exhaust at the catalyst. Does this problem only occur when the car is warm? Have you noticed a drop in fuel economy? The ICV can cause problems without making the idle seem too bad but it doesn't sound like it is the ICV in your case, however, it is still well worth gently giving this a clean if you've never done it. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |

Mine is a TU engine sorry should have mentioned it and it only done it the once when I drove it the other day I haven't driven it since but is it a mostly likely a lamba sensor, and does the MAP sensor apply to the TU engine , fuel economy seems normal to me, but I only drive it 1/2 times a week but warm it all up before driving it thanks guys sorry about not mentioning TU engine |

You need to drive it again really to see if the symptom still remains. If it does, then I'm voting lambda as first port of call. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

In the down pipe from the manifold. Depending on the age, you might have a pre and post cat lambda. |

OK il have a look so you guys think it's more likely to be a lamba sensor, also to make it easier for me, is it the blue connector one or green connector one sorry to be a pain thanks |

I don't know which connector it is but the lambda is a probe that plugs into the exhaust. It's easy and free to test so probably a good thing to try first! ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
