As a few of you might know I had a x reg bmw 330d for my daily driver and did a few things to it
put coilovers on it and slammed it with some x5 19" wheels Thumbs up

it was a good car to start with but then things started to go wrong Thumbs down
First was the GM5 (central locking unit) was a pain when I wanted to pick mates up as they had to climb in the window LOL
The last few weeks the turbo started to show signs of play and was really doing my head in, as the car was so low and the x5 wheels being 10" wide at the rear every time I put a cardboard box in the back it rubbed and eventually rubbed all the way through the side wall which ended up popping the tyre Sad so I put the standard 17" back on

The standard wheels had very low rubber on them so I decided instead of changing the turbo, the gm5 and the tyres it was time to spend some of my savings so I searched the web for a new car

I had my heart set on a 335d touring but after researching into them I found out that you can not fit a tow bar to them Thumbs down

Next in line was a 535d m sport touring, found a few that ticked the right boxes and went and viewed one yesterday, with an envelope full of cash off I headed to London to view one

This is the view I was greeted with when I arrived

I would say in total about 3 million pounds worth of cars lol

They asked me not to take pics for security purposes so only managed to sneak a few photos in but this is the beast I went to see

Well after some negotiating and px'ing the 330d a few hours later I drove away in this 535d m sport touring Big grin

A bit more juicy on fuel than the 330d but this car certainly is quicker than a standard 6 lol Not as fast as the high boost tho which is a good thing LOL

I will get more pics up soon

Im planning on fitting my x5 wheels once they have been reconditioned and have new tyres fitted, a few little bits need sorting bodywork wise but for its year is pretty mint Cool

Mate they had over 200 cars in that warehouse, you could just go on the site and see what cars they had and location so sod them just couldn't be to blatant taking the photos

I went for a diesel as it will be the tow car for the dimma, if I had my way it would have been an m5 touring lol

I agree lol, they are 18" though but due to the car being so mahoosive they look tiny, I will be getting the x5 wheels reconditioned, New tyres and then fit them to the 5 series which should make it look a lot better Thumbs up

A friend has one of these, the engine is superb! Looks lovely buddy.

Why can't you fit a tow bar to the 335d? I was fancying one next to replace my 330d, that could be a bit of a turn off Sad

Due to the twin exit exhaust joining in the middle, I phoned bmw and they said it was a no go and I also looked on line and no luck Angry
I guess if you had a custom exhaust made so that they didn't join in the middle it would be possible but that's more money that I wouldn't want to spend

I think that the current wheels are the right size, and I'm not sure why everyone seems to like huge wheels with rubber band tyres myself.

The car looks lovely though, been in a similarly specced car and really liked it.

They look lost in those arches, mainly due to the style as opposed to the size.

Yep the x5 wheels fit with 30mm spacers, I had a look on Google images and there is a black one on there with x5 wheels, some 5 series came with 19" spiders (I would buy these but they are around £1000 second hand) I will get the same size tyres as they use so then I can still have a decent size side wall and still use them for towing
