I would like to get rid of my rotary switch for the heater fan, how can I wire it up so that it's just an on and off switch? |

id just ditch the existing system all together mate and use a decent gauge positive battery feed controlled by a switch and suitably heavy duty 4 pin relay. Not sure what current a fan draws on full chat but should be a piece of p**s to do.________________________________________ Black power baby! I'm going to get rid of the control unit, have the heater set on hot and always selected to the windscreen and just have a on off switch but I'm not sure how to do it |

How I just said lolSwitch in the dash switching a small live to trigger a big relay that switches on a large 12v feed straight from the battery. Remove all the existing system and cables etc and leave the flaps in hot position and windscreen. Should be a piece of p**s really. ________________________________________ Black power baby! If you wanted Ollie I'm sure you could relocate the panel to say the glovebox area? still give adjustment but won't be visible so you can use the original location for guages?________________________________________ Super high boost Completed, destroyer of gearboxes and 160mph club |

this seems like a very pointless mod. (unless you need the dash space for a little tv screen etc?)can you please explain why a flick switch in the same position as the original rotary switch would be easier? im guessing your one of these people that only ever sets the tempreture gauge to extra hot or extra cold and then spends the rest of the time never happy and switching between the two. i cant believe how many people i know (nearly everyone) who make the thermostatic switch in their car essentially pointless by only every usuing its two most extreme positions. ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

I'm presuming its as it's purely a stripped track and show car and it's only use will be to clear / keep clear the windscreen not for driver comfort. ________________________________________ Black power baby! As above!! Certainly not for a tv screen that's for sure lol plus I have a lot of gauges that I need to find room for and the current rotary unit takes up a lot of space!Have you ever done a track day with no windows open and 2 people breathing in the car? You don't see where your going for long so a quick blast of the heaters every now and then sorts that out and also helps cool the engine down a bit! |
