Basically can this be done with the sump removed or is it a gearbox out job if the box has to come out think i will wait till i get a lightened flywheel and do every thing at once

Thought so what is the seal i have seen mentioned on here that can be replaced with sump off then i have a pretty bad oil leak coming from that area

that's means you're clutch will prob be out the window soon

You're best to change the crank seals and the 'hockey stick' seals at the same time.

You need the box off to change the rear crank seal, you need the sump off to change the end cap hockey stick seals. Yes

If you're planning on a lightened flywheel, I would strongly suggest you wait until then. Smile

Ye been kind of waiting on it going but been fine so far Thumbs up Not been too worried about its not as if i need to wait hours on a recovery company turning upBig grin

Its just the oil leak is starting to p**s me offYes

Perfect stan thats what i thought

What seal usually goes the crankshaft or hockey stick

my crankshaft seal went and fubard my clutch.

Not good man how long ago was that and how much was clutch think i have got a flywheel so best get a new clutch at same time

Whats best just a standard clutch or am i better getting a paddle type

Standard clutch is all you want, trust me. Yes

As for the seals going, sometimes hockey stick ones go other times it's the main crank seal itself. Either way, get them changed along with a new flywheel and clutch and you'll love it. Smile
