Recently my 'charger has started making a whining noise and I'm trying to track down the original purchaser to see if it's within the warranty period. Does anyone know Wayne V, username techdw. He lives down in Kent but his account doesn't accept PM's so i can't get in touch.

Be glad you didn't buy the car if you were interested a while back. I'm glad it didn't sell in a way as we'd be in a awkward situation!

Managed to find an email address so hopefully he'll get in touch. Just hoping to god my 'charger is less than 2 years old. It's a long shot as I know Mark Allen brought it off TechDW in Feb 2012.

If i remember right it didnt have warranty when i bought it however Rich said he would guarantee it for a year. I never had that in writing, just his word. So i would say probably not as i also dont think wayne bought it new.

Have you checked the charger oil curcuit?

Thanks for the info Mark, doesn't look like i'll be getting it under warranty so I've got to hope it's possible to repair.

Not changed the fluid, was thinking it was about due having been installed for around 18 months or so. I'll check it out next week and then get it booked in at Lynx. Annoyingly it's going to take a while to repair. Of all the things to break, it had to be the one bit that costs so much f'in money!

Prob a bearing if it's whining ? Can you not take the belt off and turn it by hand and see how it feels ?

I'll start another thread on charger issues rather than keeping this one with the misleading title.
