Quick question. Are there any differences between the front coil spring designs between years? I ask, as I need a new one and according to eurocarparts, a spring for a '98 is about £20 more than for a '99. Obviously I need a '98...! Is there a difference, or is it just a slightly dodgy database trying to get a little extra from me!? Thanks |

I have never been able to find a pattern gti6 coil spring with the same number of coils as the genuine springs. Unfortunately the genuine springs are very expensive but at least the spring rate is as intended. |

I'd replace them in pairs especially if you will end up with one 100K miles older than the other, and a pattern spring on one side and a OE one on the other. Don't skimp on safety issue. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I do intend to as it goes, as the same thought had occurred to me! I just want to get it through the MOT so I can legally take it for some little test drives while I look at some of the other little jobs that need doing. |
