Quick question.

Are there any differences between the front coil spring designs between years? I ask, as I need a new one and according to eurocarparts, a spring for a '98 is about £20 more than for a '99. Obviously I need a '98...!

Is there a difference, or is it just a slightly dodgy database trying to get a little extra from me!?

Thanks

I have never been able to find a pattern gti6 coil spring with the same number of coils as the genuine springs. Unfortunately the genuine springs are very expensive but at least the spring rate is as intended.

I'd replace them in pairs especially if you will end up with one 100K miles older than the other, and a pattern spring on one side and a OE one on the other. Don't skimp on safety issue.

I do intend to as it goes, as the same thought had occurred to me!

I just want to get it through the MOT so I can legally take it for some little test drives while I look at some of the other little jobs that need doing.
