Quick question to all you knowledgeable people...

I've just freed up the valve movement for my MOT, with the help of the most excellent FAQ and that part has gone smoothly. However, I was wondering if the us a way to help stop it seizing?

A little grease could protect it and help lube the pivot, but obviously this would also get caked in dirt and might cause its own problems. Does anyone have any technique or suggestion? Or should I just free it up every year?

Thanks

WD40 will wash off the first big puddle you go through. You want something with a bit more staying power. I used some teflon bike chain lube I had lying around on my old XS a few years ago and it didn't seize up again during my ownership.

That's a good call - I'll have to give that a go.
