hi all, quick story, sold the car bloke took it away basically blew the engine brought it back with a few mates so i gave him is money back thinking it wasnt that broke and also didnt want the s**t kicked out of me,
turns out the butterfly had been sucked though the intake along with 2 screws smashing piston 1 and cracking the block
so thought i'd stick in the 306 gti6 lump,

this is pre sale

and while i was taking things apart thought id treaat the suspension and wheel arches

any way questions questions questions
firstly the idle control valve am i right in saying that the pipe comes out to the right and either has a mini filter on or connects to the air filter pipage? as i cant seam to see where it goes having no airfilter on yet

secondly what goes here

is it this if so where does the other end goto??

and i have water pipe issues
at the back of the engine there are two hole coming out of the engine what goes here im thinking right one goes to the heater matrix left one goes to the expansion tank as the pipes seamed to fit there

then the same again at the front
i seam to habe thought that the right one goes to the expansion tank top return feed
and the left one seamed to fit to the thermostat housing

then the other heatermatrix pipe seam'd to want to fit into the thermostat housing?
and the brake servo vacuum pipe went to the top right of the engine
how close am i with any other these?
and help would be appreciated

The idle control valve you are right. That Brown valve is indeed what connects to the throttle body then would usually fit to the charcoal canister on the inner wing so just block it off as you won't have that.

The water pipes you are right if I'm understanding you correctly, for the ones at the front of the block you connect the one on the left as you look at the car to the rad and the one on the right is where the small part of the top right rad hose goes to.

Brake vacuum hose goes to the vacuum pump on the end of head.

Block it off mate, you dont need it, it runs to the charcoal canister in the O/S wing on a 306.

thanks for all the info, turns out though the rear water pipes have the wrong bit on, there shouldn't be 2 connector pipes coming out of the rear only the one that connects up to the thermo housing, that's off an s16!!! so have to swap that over for a 306gti6 one grrrr
wish id have found this out while the engine was out gonna be tricky to get to!
