Might be a silly question so don't shoot me down in flames but i have damaged my crank in my HB GTI6 engine when the head gasket blew and decided to force water into the oil and has marked the crank beyond repair

So is a MI16 crank the same as the GTI6 one as i have a damaged top end MI16 engine that i can rob the crank from or if not i have a complete GTI engine as a spare that i can rob the crank from ??

No the mi crank is different.

Ash is partly wrong, the 2.0 uses the same crank, but its likely to be quite worn being older!
