V=I x R so 12 = 10 x R so R = 12/10 = 1.2ohms at 100 - 120 watts hopefully this resistor works out cheaper than a new no fan engine loom ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

Why would you want or need to do this ?If you don't want to run a fan just disconnect it, thats it, job done. Running a power resistor will simply use 10A or so and achieve nothing. Just leave it out. Or am I missing a part of the story ? Paul |

they run in series first (half speed) and then in parrallel at full speed. so if i disconnect one the remaining fan will only blow full speed when my engines already to hot.________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

Its a 250w fan, and on the single fan dual speed vehicles the resistor used is 0.9ohm wrapped in a hefty heat sink, similar to the dim-dip sidelights.it would be far simpler to get a single fan non aircon dual speed setup as that will just bolt straight in. ________________________________________ 205 GTIXsara HDI |

simpler than going to maplins buying said power resistor for a fiver, then fitting it?and thanks for the info, youve essentially told me what ive been needing to know from the start. that peugeot themselves alter the fan setup in the same way i was planning to with apower resitor. im off to maplins to get one cheers ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |
