Now I've had numerous wheels done over the years by a powder coating place in Birmingham, and paid up to £40 a wheel for a chemical strip, sand blast, then powdercoat.
Coskev put a link on here in the other powdercoating thread for City Powdercoaters in Digbeth, Birmingham. Advertising the full service for just £20 a wheel, I thought i'd give them a try on some track wheels for the 206. After all, even if they were poor, for such a small outlay it'd be worth a chance.
So, here's what we started with, an example of a 12 yr old 16" Nimrod alloy off a 206 gti. All i'd done was run the DA round the edges to make sure there was no cracking or real damage under the Flaky paint..
Typical manky inners..
Dropped them off Wednesday morning, had a look at the colours available and settled on Anthracite, same shade as the Compomotives. Could've picked them up Friday morning as they were ready, but went over Saturday first thing.
Really pleased with them, all the s**t and scabbiness has gone and I cant find a flaw in the finish anywhere. Went and had a set of Federal RS-R track tyres fitted and here's how they look now.
And finally the RS-R's which again are on offer from mytyres.co.uk cheaper than anywhere else!!
So for any guys who are local and are wary of the prices and quality, don't be!
Just thought I'd post some pics up, I'm in no way associated with them at all, just a pleased customer!!!
