My mate has a 2.0 Hdi that starts perfect when cold. But once it gets warm/hot it doesn't wan't to start.

Everything works when cold and the pump primes etc when hot but just doesn't want to start.

Any ideas?

Our thoughts turned to Coolant Temp Sensor or Crank Sensor?

Cheers all

Possible air leak.

I had this years ago on a D Turbo engine. There was a tiny crack in the fuel filter housing. It would start perfect from cold but then once it was up to temp and the crack opened as the housing expanded it buggered about.

Does this engine run ok when hit and just won't start again if you switch it off?

I had this on my scudo hdi. Turned out to be a knackered injector which was highlighted by a leak off test.
May be worth a try?
