Hi guys, probably going to be changing the rad on my car soon, keep seeing these come up. What's so special about them? We sell VALEO at work, NISSENS is just another rad manufacturer, so what's the difference? are they a wider core etc ?

cheers,Paul.

nothing special about them, just made from alloy rather than copper or steel like originals.

most valeo replacements are alloy, so will perform just as well, proper original units were Ordonez.

Nissens rads definitely lower the running temp slightly. Yes

They have on mine and every other '6' I've fitted one to. Smile

Great stuff, ill get one soon as, one im using came with the engine package and is a gsf low grade plated one, was planning on getting a nissens one, now ill get on with it all.

Gaskets dont like it too hot for too long, so have been trying to find ways to keep engine a bit cooler.

Cheers.

Whist looking for a cheap one I found this, seem to be what im looking for, not too thick like the TD type yet will give 40% more cooling.

Anyone seen or heard of these rads and quality etc ?

A Nissens rad will be the best option if you are looking for a replacement for a 306. Yes

Yep for the 205 (sorry its a little bit more important lol), although I will plan on getting a Nissens for the 6. So not only keeps the engines cooler it's also lighter, win win Thumbs up

Looking good Kev, i'll be doing the same sort of thing when I get the fans as well. Although for the 205 ill be making some ally brackets to fit the grill like OE.

Because its bigger and I know its the 309, do you have any idea on the amount of coolant need for this rad and engine etc ?

Any idea Kev on the amount needed ?

Also did you just spline the two fans together or did you have to fit another separate loom for the second fan ?

According to Welshpug, the amount of coolant required for a standard RFS cooling system is 7.6 litres, so I'd say around that. Thumbs up

Ok thanks.

The rad im getting is bigger so I might be looking at around 9 litres just to make sure I have enough as im getting some of the coolant that is designed to make it cooler and last ages, well that's the plan lol.
